About Me

I’m Gordiano Castro, an artist from Oaxaca, Mexico, working in oils and acrylics. My work moves between abstraction and realism, exploring the human figure and elements of Mexican culture, especially the traditions of Oaxaca. Frida Kahlo’s work is one of my artistic influences.

The pause brought on by the pandemic gave me the opportunity to pursue something I had wanted to do for many years: paint. What began as a hobby became a consistent practice. To develop my technique, I studied with painting instructors who helped me grow as an artist.

Today, I continue to learn and develop my work. Through my paintings, I seek to share the cultural themes that inspire me, connect with a wider audience, and take the next steps in my artistic journey.
